Kodak Cuts Health, Dental, Life Insurance
Rochester, N.Y.) - Kodak is cutting back on key retiree benefits.
More than 40,000 Kodak retirees received a letter telling them that starting in 2009, company contributions toward health insurance will be cut by one-percent a year for ten years.
Kodak dental coverage will no longer be available starting next year.
Company-paid life insurance is also being eliminated. This affects those who retired on or after October 1, 1991.
Retirees whose health insurance is coverage is cancelled for non-payment will not be allowed to re-enroll.
Kodak indicated the changes are needed to compete with other digital companies that do not offer comparable benefits.
